L-Threonine is important in the formation of collagen and elastin. In combination with L-Aspartic Acid and L-Methionine it supports liver function through its lipotropic action (removes fats.) It also helps control seizures.
L-Threonine is also a precursor (building block) of glycine synthesis in the spinal cord and is essential for a healthy nervous system.
Feed Grade L-Threonine is used mainly in premixtures and pig feed, but also in poultry feed. it is the second limiting amino acid for pigs after Lysine and improves zootechnical performance and reduces nitrogen waste.
